sound installation piece by Escape Mechanism, titled "Listserv," at the
Soap Factory, as part of the new series, '
Shafted Sound.'
For this exhibition, "Listserv" was installed in stereo, with the left speaker at the bottom of the Soap Factory's elevator shaft, and the right positioned near the top. The piece was experienced from within the elevator car, where the split-stereo effect was perfectly focused.

After obtaining permission from the artist, at the opening for the
Walker Art Center's "Let's Entertain," the debut Escape Mechanism CD is surreptitiously added to Piotr Uklanski's installation piece, "Dance Floor." The piece, which was a part of "
Let's Entertain," was a functional disco dance-floor, installed in the museum's coat room, where it blinked away in time to the music, with coat racks and coin-operated lockers where the dancers would have been. The CD played on repeat for over a week.
